Aha, the real story. She has a noncancerous cist or small growth under her knee. It is more of an irritation than anything, but may as well remove the darned thing before it develops into a problem. So, this will be an out-patient arthroscopic (or however the docs spell it) surgery Thursday. Should be a short time off from practice, but one never knows when the possibility of an infection from the surgery (or whatever) might develop.
But all in all, this is actually good news that the problem is so slight and that it can be remedied with minor surgery, that it was discovered in the preseason, that she has found the source of the knee pain, etc.
Just one of those weird deals that turns out to be minor rather than major.
But, for those of you who haven't watched the Lady Griz, this is going to be a fun year. Maybe not a great year, but we have four freshmen who could be good enough to start for four years. Will be fun to watch the development - you will LOVE Mandy Morales - great player (in a usually quiet way) and a great person.
