Montgomery out at Golden State?

maybe he would be interested in a Dennis Erickson-type deal since GS will still be paying him for the next 2 years. He would look good on that Griz bench again.

Why would we want him back? so he can schedule Simon Fraser again? Seriously, Monty is better suited for the Stanfors type of school.

I think he could still be a good pro coach if he got a chance with a decent franchise that wasn't a complete mess.

I think Monty was a perfect fit at Stanford. The only ex college coach that I can think of who did well in the Pros was Larry Brown.

According to this article Montgomery will be replaced by former Warriors coach Don Nelson.

Yea, CNN/Sports Illustrated is saying the same thing.

I thought Monty was a great fit at Stanford, but the the $$$$ offered at Golden St. made him give it a try.

And oh by the way Mslacat, it must have been wise that Krysko did not take that assistant job at Golden State eh? :loser:

Interesting look at the Montgomery situation from a San Jose writer, who speculates he could end up back at Stanford in a non-coaching job. Cal and TV work also mentioned:

That article is worth reading just for the crack on Adonal Foyle!

You would have thought that he could have just called Pitino, Carlesimo and Calipari and saved himself a headache.

But you can buy a lot of asp for that kind of money.

True very true........ I just have a thing about coaches being with a team where Rick Adelman has coached in the past. Never turns out well for Golden State and Portland. Love to see hoew the Kings fare this year.

Addelman has to share some of the blame, but my word, the GM's in Portland, Golden State, and Sacramento have made some moves that make you wonder what in the world were they thinking.

Actually I can't blame Adelman at all. When he has the horses he is good. When the GM's of the teams ha has coached make moves it seems to bring a downfall.
