Montana vs SAC St

I wonder if Tinkle will comment on the regulars playing more time than they hoped for against Sac State. A Win is a Win, but more rest for the regulars would have been a bonus.

60-48 final, good thing it was Sac they played 2nite, they seemed tired on the court. Flashes of excellence but then they'd laspe into the game Sac was hoping they'd play, a slow and sluggish attack.

It felt like the Griz could've won this by more, however this win solidfies 2nd place I believe, so that's a good thing! Gotta beat NAU now! Good games by Johnson and Sharp, haven't seen the box yet, not sure point totals...

Nice W in a game that would be tough to stay focused during. The snail's pace is hard to keep focused. I knew Sac State was slowing it down, but that was beyond ridiculous. In a normally paced game, I would more concerned about only 6 players getting significant playing time during the 1st game of a long road trip. The GRIZ for the most part stuck with the starters and CET. Qvale, Taylor, and Stockton seen limited action from what I seen.

I just hope not going more to our bench will not bite us in the ass against NAU.

Sorry about the stats being cockeyed. I copied and pasted. Good games from AJ, Sharp, and Hasquet.

It's always great to win on the road and along with PSU's loss at Idaho State puts us in solid second place, but an area of concern has to be 0 points from the bench tonight and 2-11 from beyond the arc. The Griz have been getting it done on the foul line though, thanks a lot to AJ. Go get the sweep on Saturday and hope that Weber loses. GO GRIZ!

Johnson leads the conference in free throw shooting percentage, at 86%. He's had more free throws than anyone in the conference. He's made 25 more free throws than anyone in the conference. He has taken 151 of UM's 475 free throws this season. By comparison, McGillis has taken 75.

Staudacher has shot only 2 free throws, and made both. Stockton is 3-3. Not counting those two, M. Taylor is 2nd on the team in free throw shooting percentage, with 83%.

Nice win by the Griz on the road. I see the kittens are in the midst of their annual late season swoon under Huse. So what ever happened to the dimwits on here than said Huse was a better coach and recruiter than Tinks? Silence is GOLDEN.

Why is AJ so epic?

Watch the Griz BB team play next time they are playing in Missoula, or watch them play NAU this weekend on Bigskytv.org. He has to be the leading candidate for MVP and definitely newcomer of the year in the Big Sky. For the season he's averaging 16.9 points per game (leads the Big Sky in that category). In just conference play, he's leading the conference in scoring with 21.5 points per game also. Teams are really starting to try to deny him from getting the ball completely, and even that hasn't really stopped him. Sac State was all over him all game last night, and he still got 24 points and 4 assists. He's also shooting a very high FG% (one of the best in the big sky).

Having CET back I think has really helped him too (and helped the Griz a ton defensively) since that's taking some pressure off of AJ and allowing him to play the 2 quite a bit. With both CET and AJ on the court at the same time, we have a great defending backcourt, and the quickness back there to cause teams serious problems when we are on offense.

Good comments, Dexter. I assume AJ's average per game improved considerably after he became a starter (and started playing more minutes0.
