I've read a lot of complaints about tournament seeding for Montana teams (Lady Griz this year) and Big Sky teams in general.
Why is that?
As I understand it, people mainly complain because the low tournament seed makes it likely that we will lose our first tourney game against a top seed.
Of course it makes that outcome likely. That's why both the men's and women's teams need to play a competitive non-conference schedule and win games that they're expected to lose. Any Griz team that goes into the tournament with 3 or 4 losses will deserve, and will get, a good seed.
And that should be our goal. It's not enough to hope for a 12 or 11 seed in hopes that we might win one game. The goal should be to win the damn tournament! We need to set our sights higher. We need to win against the Boise States, Cals and Colorado States, not to mention the Eastern Washingtons and Weber States.
Come on! Step it up! Stop being loser crybabies!
That is all.
