Not a very good weekend for the Cats.

In fairness, Kentucky does rotate 10 McDonald's all Americans. Also in fairness, is it EVER a good weekend to be a cat?

Kentucky is an amazing team on defense...so while that score looks awful it's not too unexpected. Kentucky held #5 Kansas to 19.6% shooting in a 72-40 win earlier in the season. MSU shot 19.7% from the field.

There isn't a Big Sky team that would stay within 20 or probably even 30 of Kentucky I'm afraid.

Oh also the Griz are playing Seattle tonight. Game is streaming online for anyone who wants to watch the Griz BB team. It's Channel #2 on the WAC Digital Network.

After our two latest debacles against real basketball teams (Wisconsin and Syracuse) I shall be casting no stones to the east.

Just wanted to clarify I wasn't picking on the cats in my earlier post in this thread. I think everyone expected Kentucky to beat the hell out of the Cats. Kentucky has 10 players that could start for pretty much any team in the country. The Cats are rebuilding (big time) under a new coach after many years of disappointment.

Anyway, I wouldn't consider Wisconsin & Syracuse as the only two "real" basketball teams the Griz have faced over the past few years. Yeah the Griz laid an egg in the tournament both of those times but they've also played some very good teams closely and had quite a few good wins over the past few years.

This year started rough with a loss @ Colorado State, but then they bounced back and took Boise State to double overtime. Boise was picked to finish 2nd in the Mountain West in one poll I thought (very good BB conference). Tonight the Griz beat Seattle on the road 66-62 in a very entertaining and sometimes frustrating game.

Definitely think people need to check out the Griz BB team. New coach and the new more up tempo offense can be pretty fun to watch. Still quite a few kinks to be worked out of course but I think they'll surprise some teams this year :)

After playing Carroll College the next home game is North Dakota State on December 7th followed by Davidson. NDSU went to the NCAA tournament last year as a 12 seed and knocked off the 5 seed (much like the Griz did in 2005-2006). Davidson of course is where Stephen Curry played. They were a 20 win team that went 15-1 in their conference last year & made it to the NIT. Should be a fun few games!

Will give you Wisconsin... But comparing 47 to 58 is semantics.. It's an ass kicking anyway you look at it. Finding ANY joy from it should be frowned upon.

I was saying 47 was just as bad as 58, hence the :butt: next to the 47, just as I put the :butt: in the "Kentucky was 1 bucket shy of dropping 60 pt win on the cats. They put the whole fist up there." comment right above.

I watched that Montana vs Colorado State game on Root Sports. The Griz looked BAD.

Should be pretty good in the BSC though.

In the first half they did for sure. In the 2nd half they played much much better. Same with in the Boise game. Looked like a much improved team over what we saw in the first half of the Colorado State game.

I would give the nod to the Griz as being worse, only because it was on national TV in front of all America.....cats were just on SEC network.....again semantics

Nice overall week for Cats! It's one thing to get the 14 seed in the Big Dance and get crushed by a no 1 Seed to end the season. Quite another to start the year like that. Holy hell who scheduled that??? But for the Grace of God go we (not saying the Griz would have represented much better ... I'm sure TD's squad would have reached 40 tho!)
