Montana Grizzlies 2017 press conferences - Skyline Sports

i could be wrong but listened to this presser twice.....i was a little unnerved in that stitt did not put very much of an emphasis on the beginning of the game when they went three and out and left short fields....instead, talked about short punt, a shanked punt, weird things that he has never seen etc. etc. ......i feel a head coach should be more accountable to his players for HIS actions or lack of in terms of responsibility and schemes for the game planning / execution of said game plan. just a feeling i had from listening to this press conference.

That is the Stitt we know and love. First four offensive series; three three-and-outs and one interception. Weird things he has never seen.

Ding, ding, ding. Been about 20 years in the business of coaching and “never seen” is a pretty regular comment of his in evaluation of what’s transpired. Anyone not named Stitt or Semore who’s watching week to week knows that the guys on the other sidelines prepare things specifically to attack weaknesses on either side of the ball.

Last week, the plodding & pounding Weebs offense suddenly became the kings of play-action. Play action is supposed to be most effective when there’s a running game to fear. Remind me how many yards rushing Weebs had @ the half? When they scored their last offensive TD. The seldom-sends-extra-pressure Weebs defense sent extra rushers nearly every down. I don’t believe it has anything to do with “never seen”, it’s more likely that they spent the week preparing for is about 50% of what they actually get. Adjustments? Once in a while, but in truth, required weekly because the other team always comes out with something they weren’t expecting.

When’s it going to be their turn to show up with something the other team didn’t expect? Because I expect several three & outs before the offense gets into rhythm. Got fingers crossed on turnovers, because they’re not good enough right now to overcome many.
