Probably because the discussion was taking an even uglier turn and the mods know that the more people open their mouths the worse it gets for everyone. Think about it; does the University need BOTH sides of the Griz football isle spewing stupid s*#% everywhere? The original article written by Kato was poorly written and should not have been published. The tweets, facebook posts, and petition by Lisa were done without full knowledge of what happened, and reflected poorly on her until.....Alpha opened his mouth and said things that are indefensible. He made ALL Griz fans look bad. Hell, that makes the University look bad.

A lot was said by many people that was inaccurate, hurtful, damaging, and unfortunate. EVERYBODY (From Bodnar, to Haslam, to Hauck, to players, to media, to fans) needs to do a better job keeping their heads, listening to facts, and having civil discourse with those with different opinions. Not that Bodnar or Haslam, or Hauck, or current players have done anything wrong, but we need better public relations. A lot can be learned from people with different opinions. Ok, that's it. As you were.

No, that's not what I said. Or inferred. My point is that people both for, and against Griz football have said things that make the University look bad. Both were not fact based. Giving press to people that use their platform to spread misinformation is hurtful. Giving press to angry keyboard warriors is also hurtful.

If you watched the press conference I think you would see that Hauck is not only very aware of the current state of the University of Montana, but also the cultural shift towards how we minimize, and deal with sexual assault as a nation.

But whatever, keep your head in the sand. Just remember, it was your current coach who let a kid back on the team after a summer where he was arrested TWICE.

Alpha and his minions think he's a lot smarter than he is. Kind of funny how much in common he has with Growler and other egoistical loudmouths who think they're brilliant while proving time and time again that they're actually quite dim.

In Alpha's case he played right into the hands of the petition maker and the guy who wrote the hit piece on Hauck. Alpha extended their relevance attacking her with over the top rape jokes and doxxing. This gave them even more ammo to use for yet another article for the front page of the Missoulian that gave more attention. Sounds like a great success if Alpha's goal was to keep that petition in the news and embarrass Griz fans everywhere.

Oh of course he got something out of it too. He got to show off his tough guy persona to his minions over on moronblood.com and get a lot of attention heaped onto himself, which I'm sure he's fine with since he's a massive attention whore as well. Maybe he'll get a few more users over there too so he can have 19 people reading instead of 15.

Basically two dumbasses fighting on Twitter, one runs to the media to whine about the over-the-line actions of the other, the other snowflake runs to his own message board to whine about the actions of the first snowflake. Both are happy with themselves and don't see how ridiculous they look to normal people.

Neither of them deserve any attention and they're both acting like poorly behaved teenagers.

It would be perfectly fine with me if every one of Alpha/pickle/whateverhisnameis's fans just hung out on his (not very good) site and stayed there.

I would personally enjoy seeing the greater Griz community, including eGriz, enjoy alittle more of the aura around it in 2003. And it appears we may at least have the coach from that year in place. Perhaps we'll see a similar eGriz, too. Just hopefully not the first round playoff loss.

Yes to this. Except, there is no reason to qualify the sentiment with "sometimes funny, ok in person." Who cares if he wasn't always repulsive and hateful? Did you know that Ted Bundy worked as an operator at a suicide prevention hotline and saved more lives than people he murdered? Jerry Sandusky founded an organization that gave many opportunities to underpriviledged children that they wouldn't otherwise have had? He also raped several of them...

I was looking for an explanation, that is all. Coming out defensive casts whole new light on the situation. I don't know anyone one this site or MB. Censorship is what it is, a pathetic display of weakness. These petty grudges need to be culled, not discussions about issues. I stopped viewing Egriz over a year or two ago due to the bullshit, posters and mods, and got a clear view of the real world. Came back for another try recently, and have been disapointed. I have never posted on MB, but read it rarely. I see Growler, and a few others are on MB, and seem to be turning that site to shit. Why can't the mods here use common goddamed sense to control the bullshit? No wonder people have stopped posting on Egriz. Now, stepping off my soapbox...

So let me see if I understand. In your first post you gripe about censorship. In this thread you want the mods to control the goddamned bullshit. I am sure you have a good way to do that. I am sure Chris would love a PM explaining how to do that without what someone guaranteed will think is censorship. I didn't lock the thread but I'm sure the mod had a good reason. In case you haven't noticed there are a number of self important people with a totally unrealistic view of life on this forum. They want what they want and they by God want it right now. The hiring of Hauck is a good example. There are a bunch of ninnies who have no idea what hoops have to be jumped through to hire a coach. Doesn't matter to them. Another thing, if Jesus himself walked across the beautiful Clark fork to coach the Griz bringing the 12 disciples and the archangel Michael himself to anchor the O-line, there would be be a significant percentage of posters bitching because he wasn't the guy they wanted. Many people no longer have a thing called patience or a thing called critical thinking. Not their fault, they were never taught. I am sure Chris would love to hear your ideas on how to improve the mods. He would also probably be happy to make you a mod. I'd be happy to forward your wishes.
