Montana at North Dakota State hoops thread

I wasn’t able to watch the game until late last night. A few basic observations; We’re so much better with Moody on the floor. Bannan was the best player on both teams. Whitney’s best part of his game is driving to the basket. The amount of whistles in todays game has completely ruined the flow. The Bison tv guys were pretty damn good.

Finally watched the game on demand.
I'm amazed at the improved offense. The improvement goes beyond just the shots falling.

Floor spacing, ball movement, ball handling, and comfort with one another are all improved. Next phase, making better contact screens. We screen air and space more than we do defenders.

Exactly. If you read Travis’ comments following the SDSU game, it’s crystal clear that he has emphasized ball movement above all else, and it shows in the last two games. Some of that can be attributed to Whitney’s return after the injury, but this is a completely different team with Whitney and Moody on the floor at the same time.

Moody was a brilliant pickup for the Griz. I was shocked when I saw his shooting percentages from years past. Dischon was another great get with his inside-outside game. If we can develop players like Oke and Brown and Solomon into solid contributors this season, the Griz will be a real force in the conference.

Lot of new faces this year so I'm wondering if Travis, being so defensive-minded, installed the offense last.

Well, if the objective is to score more points than the other team, there are two ways to go about it: (1) score more points, or (2) prevent them from scoring more points.

I get what you are saying but as many ticky tack illegal screens that get called in Big Sky games you can see why they are tentative.
