This quote from Buss.

"It's what our defense is built for, these type of spread style offense," Buss said. "Everyone complements each other and when everyone on the defense is executing as a whole, it's really exciting."

Well we will see about that. Two big tests coming up where we will see if Semore and the defense puts their money where their mouth is.

If you have not watched NAU, U probably are in a fog. Our defense will play just fine, some of NAU's offense will skip around our defense but in the end when the fat lady sings a UM lead of 24+ points will gleam in your fog blinded eyes!

While I have not seen NAU play I am very high on our defense. JR will be back and NAU is without their #1 QB and #1 WR their secondary is full of young guys with little experience, the only real highlight for them is their RB is good and is considered a top 5 freshman nationally. I still expect griz D to play exceptionally again and Semore to have a good game plan. The only thing I worry about is the elevation. As little as is said about elevation, it matters. Consistent and regular rotation should help.

This road trip will show how the D and team responds to Stitt's push for away success. The D is athletic, tall, and fast. However it won't surprise me to see Sourers focus on ball control and wearing down the short road roster. The Griz O is going to need to build a early lead to protect the D. NAU will probably dink and dunk on first downs to get 3rd and short. Defending their TEs and RBs in the passing game will be a must, they like screens of all sorts. I don't see them pounding the running game unless they establish a lead. Paying attention to details on individual assignments like containment, screens, and draws will be as important as giving up a long pass here and there. This D has the guys to get 3rd down stops and stress QB mentally and physically. Go Griz!
