Foolerton and his team of jesters should bring TDC a wreath of flowers when they arrive in Missoula on Wednesday for saving them embarrassment of playing this thing in a yoga studio in Sacto. I mean, seriously. You could have this:

Or this:

 TDC and the boys made sure the conference would look the best it could. Business as usual regarding UM making the conference look good.

Although to be fair, I do have it on relatively good authority that the Well has a top notch HVAC system. So the league has that goin' for em.
I was really hoping we would play Sac State in the first game but it wasnt mean to be. Oh Well.

I also would like to add that Griz fans should get out in force and support the team, it maybe the last time in the foreseeable future that UM gets to host the tournament. The predetermined tourney site is gaining more steam, and is very likely to happen beginning next season.

A few years ago, GRIZ NATION represented well during the tournament. I expect the place to be pretty full for the GRIZ games. I am hoping to make schedule arrangements to make as many games as possible.

tough matchup first round v. weber. usually an eighth seed is a mediocre team with inferior talent that doesn't think it has a chance against a one on their home court. it's the "gift" a champion gets for being champion. with weber, you can knock all that out. this is a talented team that played arizona to a tie the second half last year at the big dance, when bolomboy pulled down double-digit rebounds against zona's tough front line. this is a team whose nightmare season would not only be vindicated by beating the griz in missoula, but would let them face their next two opponents on a neutral court. montana may host, but both eastern and sacto have to be happy they don't have weber as a first-round opponent.

Because EWU had such as easy time with Idaho this season?

I laughed at the opinion piece in the SacBee

"With Sacramento State now one of the best teams in the Big Sky, the Hornets could still prevail in a tournament hosted in Bozeman, Mont. It’s just a lot harder now."

I think the article is reasonably accurate.

If Sacramento State shows up in Bozeman to play in the tournament this weekend, they'd have to be considered one of the favorites to win and be Montana Class A High School Champs.

Nice!

Ticket lines were starting to form at the Field House at 7:30 a.m., the lights were on in the Stadium getting it ready for "Pro Day," and the Lady Griz were in full practice mode on the arena floor. "Beehive" of activity this morning in the athletic facilities. The Academic Center construction will be a bit of a headache for everyone attending the games, but on the other hand it is coming along and taking final form, everyone will see it and that it will be a great addition to the athletic complex and to the University of Montana athletic programs.

I will not go so far as to describe this men's season in Cinderella terms but it certainly to this point has been an amazing run to a third Big Sky Conference title run for the third time in the past four years.

Montana put a cherry on the top of the league season that saw the Grizzlies capture 13 of their last 16 games and post a 14-4 campaign to claim a share of the championship with Eastern Washington.

And in defeating the Bobcats for the tenth consecutive time, and claiming an 18th victory Montana rookie Head Coach Travis DeCuire matched Stew Morrill (86-87) and Larry Krystowiak (04-05) as the program's second most winningest first-year coaches, trailing only Blaine Taylor's amazing 27-4 campaign in 1991-92.
