For homecoming I will be spending $500 on hotel room, $100 on gas, $100 on tickets, and probably around $300 on food and drink. Doing that 5-6 times a year adds up real quick.

Only $300 on Drinks...You cheap ass lightweight. ;)

haha.. I can tell you that when Haffy comes to town he goes hard.

Haha. This time I'll have my little one so that $500 I usually spend on alcohol will be spent on hotel.

Even Royce must admit (now) how big a good football program is to the school in regards with recruiting young kids to attend UM. It has been pointed out to him by me and others over and over. He asked my wife a few days ago how she liked the last game so he is aware of this football impact. Five years ago he did not have a clue!
I have changed my thoughts on Royce. I now think of him as a very nice man. Very nice. And that is the problem with him in his position he tries to be way to damn nice. Leaders CAN'T be nice all the time.

In one sense, I agree. Personally, he is very personable. But he wasn't "nice" to ODay or Pflu, although he certainly was a lot nicer to the Saudi rapist. His behaviors, during that period, were simply bizarre. If there could be a "re-do" nearly everything he did would have to be done differently. It was incompetence magnified, and insofar as economic benefits of sports, his behaviors continue to damage the economics that counts: student enrollment.

Not questioning that UM athletics has positive affect on the Missoula economy. However, it would probably lend credibility to the study if a non-University of Montana researcher verified the model results and "caveats" associated with the analysis.
