If either one was your kid, Do you send them to the Griz and be great( still go pro)....or to the FBS and be average (and still go pro)?

Average? Hardly!

Neither one of them are "average" in the FBS. Osweiler just set an ASU school record for passing and Miller is one of BSU's best receivers - as underclassmen.

How is that remotely average? Obviously, they made the right decision - no matter how much I would have loved for them to be Griz.

If either was my kid, I would have let them go wherever they felt was best, and then practice my skills as a professional agent.

I wish my kids were that "average".

I wouldn't call Ozz average, he threw all over a lot of teams and competed with Oregon who's one of the top teams in the country, ASU was at one point this year one of the hottest teams in the country they just had some struggles during the last half of the year.
Miller on the other hand was one of the top schools in the countries best recievers and it wasn't just because kellan moore was the best qb in FBS history and say what you want about him but he does have the most wins, and he connected with Miller on many plays whether they were screens or hail mary's against wyoming.

If Miller was my kid I would have talked him into going to Stanford.

Agree....It only takes one hit to toast a NFL calibre players playing career. Part of making it to the NFL requires a certain amount of luck avoiding injuries, regardless of your playing talent, or toughness...At the point where an athlete has to go back to the life of mere mortals, the Diploma that hangs on your wall, or the resume you provide at time of employment, means everything in todays business world where you will find 4-yr degree Grads working at most Barney's Lube and Tunes...

The "utility" player from Missoula as so termed by her B-Ball coach in a recent article, chose the Cardinal over the Griz. If your kid is adept to making the grades.....this is a no-brainer decision.
:twocents: Fair or not, Stanfords credentials win hands down, when it comes down to the monetary $tuff....

Some time ago I was walking by the area Foot Locker Store and ran into a local kid who had played on the O-line for the Broncos in the late 90's...We went in the back to catch up on his life. There proudly displayed on the wall was his BSU Diploma ....... Life after football

Oh the Glory days...

If I have a kid who qualifies academically to get into Stanford, AND is being recruited and offered by one of their sports teams, I do everything in my POWER to help them make the correct decision. There are VERY few schools outside of the Ivy League that matter on a resume. Stanford is surely one of the handful....Boise? Mmmmm, not so much. :? :? :?
