The NDSU game hurt. I thought we would produce more offense than we did, but Mick's radio sign off really hit me. Anyone else hear that? End of an era. Great job Mick and thanks for being the "Vox." Needs to be in the Griz hall of fame.

Wow, I didn't know this was the swan song. I didn't hear it, but I agree with you. End of an era.

CDA I think he will finish the basketball season. Didn't do the USF game of course as he was headed to Fargo.

That's good to hear. I hope the BB team can give him a few more exclamations.

+! BG!! I couldn't stand the ESPN guys and switched over. It was a very humble, very thoughtful and very optimistic goodbye. Very well done and truly the end of an era.

Spent many a Saturday afternoon listening to Mick when there was no TV in my area. Unfortunately, this year, I could get TV, but no Mick. DAMN !! Oh well, the sound of his touting "The Good Guys" will resonate with me till the day I die. A legend indeed. Thanks for all of it Mick, was certainly fun while it lasted.  :thumb:

Because we were getting blown out I had Mick turned up while watching the game just like the old days (it was about 40-50 seconds ahead) and he sure did his best to make me shed a tear with that sign off... Would love to see Mick raise the 37 @ the 1st home game next year or maybe Homecoming..

Mick is one of the finest people I know. He loves helping people tell their stories, and has done a lot of good in the community outside of sports. He's a terrific writer. As I have mentioned before, for me, there's been three great names in Montana sports broadcasting, Cato Butler, Bill Schwanke, and Mick Holien. Mick had the special talent of being able to call a game with impartiality even while still referring to the Griz as the "good guys."

Farewell to GrizVOX (at least as far as football is concerned) It's been a great run. Hopefully, we will have him on eGriz again.

Here is Mick's first eGriz post:

Well, that was a trip down memory lane. I've learned to keep my mouth shut.

I'm not gonna lie - it was was very hard listening to Mick sign off from Grizzly football. It was a hill . . . even for a climber.
