Did they interview the UNI coach for this article? He's the only one who makes more excuses for a beat down.

What makes this worse? Some of the same people claiming, and believing this, likely defend the program to no end. You know, the Wolverines only recruit character players, and never have legal problems.

Thankfully, GRIZ fans have never resorted to this kind of excuse. If, and when we lose to a far lesser opponent, again, let's just give them credit. Please, no excuses or stories like this.

Even if true, it makes the program sound worse than just playing bad. I think it would be better to be considered an underachieving team than a bunch of Stoners.

Hey, the Griz are never again losing to the cats.

Which reminds me; what was their excuse for losing to Chadron State?

Then again. what if they have no excuse whatsoever?

Their excuse was Danny Woodhead, now with New England, who personally destroyed them.

What was the MSU excuse for losing to UNC?

they played better than we did.....

as for the original link, i guess i'm in the monority because i believe it all. this unnamed player has nothing to gain by saying this stuff. and as another poster stated, this makes UM look WAY worse than had they simply lost to an fcs team. but i have no problem believing that the idiots at michigan were so cocky they thought they could beat up app without even trying. i also find it easy to believe that they smoked weed and got hammered. their cockiness caught up with them and they got beat by a team they shouldn't have en route to a crap season.

I tend to agree that this might well be the straight scoop. One item that lent a certain credibility to the quoted material was the statement that they didn't really "get" what Armani Edwards was capable of ... because they hadn't paid much attention to film. Armanti was (is, but he's never been given a credible NFL chance) a wonderful player, but you have to believe Mich should have been able to game-planned against those skills.

And to me, this does not at all diminish what App State accomplished. (I'm sure some of those who reject the article think it does/would.) A football game is about more than what happens on the field -- it's about preparation and "taking what the opponent gives you." Appie went into the game ready to do their best with what they had -- a special player in Edwards, all-out preparation, and a winning attitude. Michigan -- for whatever reason(s) -- clearly had none of those things (whether or not you buy what was said in the article).

My goodness. 4/5 years later, they are still making excuses.

Well, they do have the right colors for excuse making. :D
Azure Blue and Maize? Who else has those?

Maize is one of the two colors used by the University of Michigan Wolverines (the other being blue) although the actual shade of yellow used has varied over time; however, it always approaches the color of corn. :msugrad:
