Great kid and a 4.0 is spectacular but the engineering narrative around him is misleading. Financial Engineering at MSU is a business degree. ABET (engineering accreditation board) doesn’t recognize the degree and unlike “true” engineering degrees offered by MSU, there is no requirement to sit for the FE exam in order to graduate.

What engineering degree has you take an FE exam to graduate?

All engineering majors at MSU have ENG488 FE exam listed in their course requirements.

I really like the wine guy, he's a great representative of the state of Montana, and this is a cool award. But I'll be honest, I don't truly understand the unbridled love for him on this board. I mean, say a neutral thing about the guy and it's like you said something bad about Mother Teresa.

There are great guys on Alabama, and I bet not one of them is beloved on the Auburn board.

That must be a new course requirement. In the old days the EIT was a test to become a Professional Engineer but was not required to pass to graduate. Most engineers outside of civil engineers are not PE's.
