Not quite FCS but still Montana, it's do or die for the ladies on the pitch. They can finish anywhere from 2nd and a bye to 7th and on the outside looking in. Here's a quick rundown of the games this Friday to end the regular season and the potential outcomes.
Friday's schedule
Sac St @ Portland St 1pm
Idaho St @ *Idaho 3pm
*Montana @ Eastern Wash 330pm
*North Dakota @ Northern Colorado 6pm
Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona 7pm
Perfered outcomes for Montana.
*If Montana beats EWU;
-Portland State beat Sac St, will give us 2nd place and a first round bye depending on tie breaker w/ NAU if they win
-Southern Utah beat Northern Arizona to give us 2nd place all alone.
-other games will be meaningless to us.
*if Montana ties EWU;
-Sac St beat or tie Portland St, a victory for PSU and a tie for us will give us both 16 pts and PSU holds the tie breaker due to a regular season loss to them.
-North Dakota beat Northern Colorado, a tie for us and a win for UNC will leave us in a tie. A tie with them in the regular season will leave us depending on some other variable for our tie breaker and depending on PSU's outcome, could leave us in 7th place.
-Southern Utah beat Northern Arizona, currently tied with NAU, we need them to fall behind us no matter what our outcome.
*If Montana losses to EWU
-teams of importance are NAU, PSU, and UNC. We need one of the two to finish behind us. A regular season loss to PSU means we can't finish in a tie w/ them. Regular season ties w/ NAU and UNC means we'll be left to some other variable to decide our tie breaker.
Current standings (wins worth 3 pts, ties worth 1 pt). Top six advance and 1st and 2nd earn byes for first round.
