Meaningful "football" this Friday.

Not quite FCS but still Montana, it's do or die for the ladies on the pitch. They can finish anywhere from 2nd and a bye to 7th and on the outside looking in. Here's a quick rundown of the games this Friday to end the regular season and the potential outcomes.

Friday's schedule
Sac St @ Portland St 1pm
Idaho St @ *Idaho 3pm
*Montana @ Eastern Wash 330pm
*North Dakota @ Northern Colorado 6pm
Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona 7pm

Perfered outcomes for Montana.
*If Montana beats EWU;
-Portland State beat Sac St, will give us 2nd place and a first round bye depending on tie breaker w/ NAU if they win
-Southern Utah beat Northern Arizona to give us 2nd place all alone.
-other games will be meaningless to us.
*if Montana ties EWU;
-Sac St beat or tie Portland St, a victory for PSU and a tie for us will give us both 16 pts and PSU holds the tie breaker due to a regular season loss to them.
-North Dakota beat Northern Colorado, a tie for us and a win for UNC will leave us in a tie. A tie with them in the regular season will leave us depending on some other variable for our tie breaker and depending on PSU's outcome, could leave us in 7th place.
-Southern Utah beat Northern Arizona, currently tied with NAU, we need them to fall behind us no matter what our outcome.
*If Montana losses to EWU
-teams of importance are NAU, PSU, and UNC. We need one of the two to finish behind us. A regular season loss to PSU means we can't finish in a tie w/ them. Regular season ties w/ NAU and UNC means we'll be left to some other variable to decide our tie breaker.

Current standings (wins worth 3 pts, ties worth 1 pt). Top six advance and 1st and 2nd earn byes for first round.
1) Idaho___6-1-2____20pts
2) EWU____5-2-2___17pts
3) Sac St__5-2-2____17pts
t4) UM_____4-2-3____15pts
t4) NAU____4-2-3____15pts
6) PSU____4-4-1____13pts
--------------------------------
7) UNC____4-4-1____13pts
8) ISU_____4-5-0____12pts

Tie breakers from regular season head to heads.
EWU beat Sac St and Idaho
UM beat ISU
UM tied Sac St, NAU, and UNC
UM lost to PSU
NAU beat ISU, EWU, and PSU
NAU tied Sac St
NAU lost to UNC
UNC lost to PSU and ISU
PSU lost to ISU

Go Griz!!

Jesus. You actually researched this... Whatever sport it is? (Which I still don't know)
Well I know the policy over there is to win the state recruiting battle and since you couldn't out recruit Carrol probably, I get why you don't even try to play soccer or softball. Perpetual losers.

Don't forget. I know it's easy to look past your next opponent to a bigger game but tomorrow can wait. Focus on the game today Griz fans. It's still eggles so tune in and cheer em on. Anyone in Cheany earlier for tomorrow's game should go check it and root for the Griz.

Ladies beat the eggles 3-2 in OT earning the #3 seed. We will play either NAU, PSU or UNC depending on the outcome of UNC's and NAU's games tonight. The winner of our 1st rd playoff game will face Sac St and then the BSC finals.

If anyone cares...

Griz got the 4 seed and have to go right back to play EWU in Cheney. If they somehow pull off back-to-back road upsets they would meet Idaho again, who won the conference and dominated UM in Missoula.

So I get that there was some obscure tiebreaker that gives NAU the 3 seed over us after finishing with the same conference record and tying each other 2-2 in our regular season matchup in Flagstaff but why the hell do we have to go back to Cheany when we're the 4 and they're the 5!

Based on that bracket, it appears the home team is listed on top. I'm guessing we host ewoo, which only makes sense.

That would make sense but the article on Go Griz states otherwise.
The Montana soccer team rallied from a 2-0 deficit and came away with a 3-2 overtime victory over Eastern Washington Friday afternoon at Cheney, Wash. The teams will meet again on the same field in five days.
