McKenzie Johnston named 1st team All-Big Sky

I'd say it's a well-deserved honor for her: https://gogriz.com/news/2020/3/9/womens-basketball-johnston-named-first-team-all-big-sky.aspx

She's also the only UM player to be honored by the league on any all-conference squad.

Good for McKenzie.

But also a further indication of how far this program has fallen off. Not only is she the only all-conference player from Montana, she's the first first-team selection in five years.

More: I thought Jamie Pickens, a top-100 player nationally coming out of high school, would be the Newcomer of the Year. Not sure if that's going to happen either.

These results would have been unheard-of in our heyday.

Newcomer of the Year: Nina Radford, NAU.

Nina Radford is a redshirt sophomore, played a year at UCSB before transferring to Northern Arizona, so I'll concede this is not a reflection on our program. Give Jamie a year of maturity and she'll be fine, plus you can never go wrong with kids from Helena.

Her senior year was outstanding, played most games full blast beginning to end buzzer, those killer pull up shots wow! And playing thru injuries, leg, nose--tough player!
