McKenzie Holt

G-BEARS

Well-known member
Does anyone know what position he played on the scout team this year? I know there was quite the debate on where he would end up playing for the griz coming out of high school. Seems like he could be a good fit at fullback, being as it looks like we'll be utilizing that position next year. Assuming someone will convert to that position, could be a good fit.

Can’t answer what position Holt played on scout. I however agree with you. I likened him to Ryan Nall for the Beavs. Maybe in Haucks system he fills in that position. Would like to see the kid on the field being he is a TFalls prouduct such as I am.

McKenzie is one hell of an athlete (you should see him dunk). I hope the GRIZ decide on a position for him asap. In my opinion, beefing him up to play OL wouldn't be utilizing his athleticism fully. I'd like to see him at LB, DE, or TE. There are not many TE's with his running skills after the catch. I feel he could be a huge weapon and red zone threat as a TE.

Either way, I am looking forward to see him develop, at any position the GRIZ want him at.

I think he was playing DE for scout team but they weren’t sure what position to put him at.

Mack has the "prototypical" physical attributes you look for in a TE. Tall, good mass, speed, and jumping ability. I said it when he committed to the Grizz, he would cause a big match up problem at TE. He's faster than most LB's and too big for DB's. Yes he could play DE or LB, but I believe TE is the most natural fit.

Completely agree with you.

Sounds like a Beaudin type of athlete who created mismatches and sounds like he may even be a better athlete.

Tough to beat Beaudin as an athlete, he also suited up for the bball team !!

Beaudin might be the best in-state gem Hauck ever found in his seven years.

I think he’s still best fit at DE. I remember hearing that he got a few 2nd team reps last fall, and Braydon Deming was the scout team POY at DE, those two could see meaningful snaps next season.
