Sad to report special teams ace and safety Michael McGinnis is no longer participating in football for the Griz. Happy to report that the reason is because he has accepted (after being heavily recruited, never actually applying for) a very prestigious internship that will require more time than he could give and still remain in football. Michael is a fine Student-Athlete, recently receiving the President's Scholarship as the top male student-athlete in all the entire athletic department, having pulled down a 4.0 every semester at UM. I will miss watching him play for the Griz but wish him well in his future endeavors. The kid is going places....that's for SURE!
 
Damn... He could of been a star for the Griz. This is unfortunate. Well good luck to Mr. McGinnis hope he has a successful career.
 
I'm sure that was not an easy decision to make; he had the tools to become a really good player. I expect he will become a really good player in a longer term endeavor.
 
Wow. What an impressive kid. Met his family in Oregon last year and they were awesome too. Will miss seeing him on the field. He had a bright future there but this is a kid who has a bright future regardless of the gridiron.

Sad to see his career ending, but we’ll always have the memory of him chasing down an Oregon running back who had quite a head start. Best of luck in everything ahead Michael. Once a Griz.

A very vivid memory for me; it was right in front of our seat.

I second this, what is the opportunity?

Had a chance to meet him down on the field after the game. Kid was a great convo, very personable and extremely polite.
 
Man this one stings as a football fan. McGinnis was a big time athlete. Extremely excited for him as a student and person though. Sounds like an incredible opportunity. This makes me believe they will be plugging Graves into his spot?
