McGhee after Nov. 8: 7 of his 9 FCS Losses

Again, DM is not even close to a Lulay. I appreciate DM's off-field demeanor. But on the gridiron, he flashed 2 years ago.

Lulay scared me worse than DM ever did. But #'s don't lie, DM was a pretty decent QB.

I agree, Lulay almost won four Griz/Cat games in a row. I liked DM but I'd rank Lulay above him for the Cats.

DM was one hell of a football player. The redhead was actually outstanding. I'm glad that those 2 are gone and "long gone". :egriz:

DM engineered three TDs in his first half against Montana. He also engineered three TDs in his last 7 halves against Montana. He might have done better had the Griz/Cat games been in September.

And the sad thing for Cat fans is his career ends with only 2 QF blowouts to show for it, that has to be disappointing.

So whats next for McGhee? Canada? Arena ball? I highly doubt he is NFL material.

Agreed on McGhee. I was even thinking Ash gave a halftime speech that included the standard: "And for you seniors, this is likely the last time you will ever play football."

In his 4 year career, McGhee has had 7 of his 9 FCS losses, between Nov. 9 and Dec. 10. Not a good month for him or the Cats. 2 playoff wins. 3 of the 7 losses were in the playoffs.

7 of MSU's 10 FCS losses came in that 30 or so day period. MSU hasn't beaten UM in Bozeman since 2005. I read on the board that Ash hasn't ever beaten Griz in Bozeman.

If goofed up the stats, feel free to correct.
That is because he is the Tony Romo of the fcs. He cannot win the big game but puts up big stats.

DM is a class individual and brought some competitiveness to the rivalry that has been missing for a decade or three.

Sustained it, maybe. I'd say that early ought's cat team brought the competition.
Lulay, Ioane, Joey Thomas, Ryan Johnson... those guys that I still love to hate.

Anyone else notice the awkwardness after the last cat play. DM walking past Ash as he took off his headset. Not a single word said, not even eye contact. Nor did any teammates come to console him as he went to the bench. Seemed weird to me, but also I could see where the guy wasn't voted a team captain by his temmates this summer.

Think this division between DM, the coaching staff and the players had more of an affect on 2013 than anyone associated with the msu program would like to admit.

Just saw the replay and you are exactly right. Wow, not a single teammate with a pat on the back or anything. What's up with that?

Wow. Classic griz fans. Nobody is asking you to kiss his ass, but you can't tell me a young man with that much class on and off the field that has done nothing but good things for anyone, deserves a typical griz fan telling him to F off. Classic griz fan move. I agree he is not the greatest qb in big sky history, but his stats show he is better than middle of the road. I think he at least deserves a little respect. Just like dave dickenson. Not the greatest qb in the world, but anawesome guy and no way would a cat fan say F dave dickenson.

Good game to the griz. They were the better team today

You might want to check the rest of the thread before you start throwing around sarcastic "Classic griz fans".

DM was very good not great. Best weapons were his feet. Cat fans now get to start talking about what's next.

Best o'luck to the Irish lad in the future!
