MBB Recruit: Nyandigisi Moikobu

I am hearing that the Griz are recruiting Nyandigisi "Digs" Moikobu from Rainier Beach HS in Seattle Washington. Moikobu is a 6-6 to 6-8 (I have seen him listed a few different heights) senior very athletic combo forward. He is averaging a modest 10 ppg, 11 rpg, 3 blocks per game. Before you discount those scoring stats know this R. Beach is rated by some to be the best Washington High school team ever. Senior guard /wings Reggie Moore and Mike Ladd have committed to Fresno State. Aaron Dotson a junior is rated as a top 5 small forward west coast in his class. Senior forward Ababe Demissie (7 ppg, 9 rpg) has signed with Eastern Washington.

I have heard that the Griz pulled an offer to him when Ward committed to the Griz, and told him they need to wait until the Spring to see if any scholarship opened up.

As I said before, The fact they may be recruiting a player(s) for the spring with what does appear to be a full scholarship roster, does not necessarily mean that a player may be quiting or cut. Coaches do have to maintain their recruiting contacts with players in case roster spots do open up. No coach wants to be caught with their pants down.

I'm not sure that would be appropriate for a MSU coach, but if you want me to put this in those terms......

"No coach wants to be caught passed out at a Taco Bell drive thru lane"

Now is that what you really wanted!?

This year's team or the program over the years? I remember watching lodrick and rodrick stewart play there. Nate Robinson played there a few years before them.

Speaking of that same league... you want to hear about players not playing up to potential? A few years back Seattle Prep had two NBA lottery picks on their roster—Martell Webster and Spencer Hawes—and didn't even win a state title. I'm not even sure they made the state tournament.
