Well-known member
I spoke with former Griz great and current Tennessee Titan Marc Mariani over the weekend..he sounds great and is working hard in practice to overcome his badly fractured leg. He also has some encouraging words for the current crop of Grizzly players after a disappointing season last year. Please listen and enjoy!

nice ! I hope our team is paying attention!

“I think the biggest thing that came out of my experience as a Grizzly was the name on the front of the jersey is so much more important than the name on the back,” Mariani said. “If you play with that thought in mind, the fact that you’re playing for the whole Griz nation. Once you get away from it, you see what a special corner of the world you have in Missoula, and that not everybody has it as good as we do. So, when you take the field, you’re playing for all of us, you’re playing for the history, and I think if the guys take the field with that mentality, forget about the past and move forward, I think there’s good things to come.”

Marc is such a classy young man. We are privileged to have known him as a Griz, both on and off the field.

Going to be tough with them bringing in Hunter, but he'll definitely be on most teams' radars if the unfortunate happens

He will be a St. Louis Ram within 2 years. :coffee:

Maybe. The Rams drafted a slot WR/return specialist in the first round this year, so might not be the best option for him. Seems like Fisher and him have a good relationship though if there aren't any other options available.

more on this......

Mariani’s an underdog but that’s nothing new. Few expected him to make the Titans roster in 2010 when he was a seventh-round draft pick out of Montana. His personality, enthusiasm and performance, particularly in the return game, have made him a fan favorite

and...

But even if there’s not a spot with the Titans, Mariani is a survivor. If he is able to play in preseason games, it could serve as an audition for the other 31 NFL teams. It’s no secret that Rams coach Jeff Fisher has an affection for players he drafted during his Titans tenure.

Give him to Tom Brady in New England. Tom is in need of another Wes Welker type receiver since Wes departed. Tome will show the world how great of a receiver MM can be and is!

Pretty sure they replaced Welker with Danny Amendola. Mariani needs to go to the Niners just cause.
