Mandy Moralas

That was the word in Billings. The people I know that know the family havn't gotten to talk to them directly, yet. The question is how many years does she lose if she opts out of her comittment to ASU?

She may lose a year, but she will still play 4 years. The one year lost will be her red-shirt year.

Billings paper has Morales going to the U of M today. Mother confirmed. I didn't know she is already at ASU as a early enroll Freshman so she will transfer. Still up in the air if she will lose a red shirt year or if the NCAA will let a full transfer.

Way to go Lady Griz! Here's the link to the news in the Billings paper: http://www.billingsgazette.com/index.php?id=1&display=rednews/2004/07/01/build/sports/45-morales.inc. The Lady Griz have really landed a great one. Mandy keeps getting better at each level and being reunited with her fellow West High teammates is only going to be great things to come for UM. The dominate trio of Mandy, Dana Conway, and Shadra Robison is awesome. I usually don't follow girl's basketball, especially high school but with a story like theirs it's hard not to. I hope my memory is right but I think their former West High team has won 54 games in a row and counting. Winning two championships, and could've had a chance for third title if not for teachers' strike.

>Congrats Lady Griz!!!!!!!!!!!

The Billings teachers strike was in the fall of 2002. It stopped the West High Girl's volleyball from playing at the state tournament. Girls BB was not affected. The teachers went on strike after the Billings football teams were eliminated. The girls got the shaft.
