Malik Flowers- More Than a Returner??

Let me start this by saying, I see a very high ceiling in this kid's talent. I'd love to see him utilized more and see more playing time. The kid is a great athlete, versatile, and very talented. I just wonder, how can the GRIZ staff utilize him to be a difference maker, other than just a return specialist? The GRIZ are loaded at WR, lack big playmakers at HB, and CB. At WR there is Akem, Toure, JLM, Sulser, and a talented Owens coming aboard as well.

Where does a talent like Flowers fit in? I'd like to see the staff get creative with him, and also fill some voids. He has a HB build, with WR skills. I'd experiment with him as a jack of all trades weapon. Basically our version of Tyreek Hill, Tarik Cohen, Darren Spoles, Scurzur (sp?) (remember what a nightmare he was against us).

If we can't find ways to utilize him offensively. Does he have the make up to play CB? He certainly has the speed. I'm not sure, if I am in the minority or the majority, regarding his talent and potential. I do feel, he is too good of talent to not be on the field and making an impact.

Malik is a special talent. You can see it as a kick return man. I think he will be very involved as a WR. I think he takes over Keenan Curran’s role. He is rumored to be one of the fastest Griz, if not the fastest.

That's saying something having watched Sulser burn it up. Once again, we will be loaded at WR.

Totally agree. Gabe looks like he’s on another level. But so does Malik when returning kicks. According to HUDL (not the best source as most are hand timed) Sulser runs a 4.57 and Malik a 4.37 40 yard dash. I actually think Sulser has a faster 40 than that and I’d be shocked if Malik’s was that fast as that’s nfl speed.

we need the O line gets better, and provide protection long enough for a deep ball play to develop. This is when we are going to see Malik and Sulser truly shine.

He’s only a freshman. You can’t expect everyone to get to play all the time. He did a great job returning and will continue to do so do r3 more years. I think he will see more PT as he gets older as a WR. He needs to run crisper routes and get separation. Much of his talent is finding holes and accelerating quickly. He will be an excellent receiver as he sees the field more.
