Hello Griz nation,

I have tried to stay away from this website throughout my career here and I would assume that it's probably unique to hear directly from student athletes directly on here (I don't know if it's allowed), but I decided to test the waters. For one of my senior level marketing classes we were tasked with creating a personal media project. For this project I decided to start a YouTube channel focused on the behind the scenes of Griz basketball and podcasts with former players. Part of this project is marketing to groups that are passionate about your topic and I figured there would be no better place to do this than on eGriz!

I have linked the channel and will continue to post on it throughout the semester. If you find the videos interesting feel free to subscribe or comment about what you would like to see more of. Any feedback and support is appreciated!

Thank you & go Griz,
Mack Anderson

How about a get to know the players feature, on and off the court? Is Kyle Owens as entertaining as I think he is?

Cool. Even things like the viewpoint from under the "We Are Montana" banner in the student section is interesting to me.

An idea for a future video or video series might be a recruitment video to another student athlete. How would you sell them on the basketball program, the overall university, your specific major/college, Missoula and surrounding areas, etc. Continue with the behind-the-scenes footage but maybe point out and speak to the specific competitive advantages or things that you personally enjoy or have helped you. Do interviews with coaches, teammates, professors, and other students to convey multiple viewpoints. Make it like an advertisement where the viewer might have a short attention span and highlight or draw attention to the main selling points.

Hell yeah. Considering, all this should be done anyway. Could lead to a job offer after graduating.

Well, you had a very nice game this evening, brotha. YouTube channel review forthcoming...

Great seeing the Life of a Student Athlete! Thanks Mac & Go Griz. Nice win over the Service Academy!

Watched the documentary of Jack W's aau team. That guy was hilarious, is he as funny at the U?

Hey MTGrizRule,

Thanks for the idea, I actually am posting 2 short podcasts tonight that are pretty much exactly what you're talking about. The first one is with Jamar Akoh and the second is with Cameron Parker, should be up on the channel by 9 pm! (just waiting for them to upload right now) And to answer your question yes Kyle is as entertaining as you think he is! Will have him on soon.

DoubleNicks,

Really like this idea! I'm hoping that as I continue to post more content that the channel itself could be used as a recruiting tool (will do facilities tours, more vlogs during the spring/ summer to showcase everything the state and Missoula has to offer). I definitely think that the idea of having a specific video or series tailored to what a recruit would like to see is a good idea too though so be on the lookout for that in the future. Thanks for the feedback!
