I don't know what to think of Morse. On the one hand, I remember Willy Bloomquist coming up and hitting .340 or so for three weeks a couple of years ago and Morse looks so darn awkward in the field that I think he'd be better off at third. On the other hand, he's hitting the ball HARD and seems to be making most of the plays that he should make at short.
One poster on SportSpot compared him to other big short stops like ARod and Ripkin - they both looked awkward when they were first called up to the bigs too. A comparison to those two might not be fair but at 6'4", maybe it'll just take him a bit longer to adjust to playing the position. An infield of Beltre, Morse, Lopez and Sexon would be pretty potent.
One thing I do know - the Freddy Garcia trade is looking better every day. Reed, Morse and Olivo for a pitcher that had told anyone that would listen that he wouldn't resign with the team? Good job Bavasi!!!
