who ya got? kose, van ack, lebsock, owen, lippert, richards and schye are the serious contenders. i'll go kose, van ack, and owen. kose in the middle. i think he could be a really good one.

I will believe Kose staying healthy when I see it. They will not be able to keep Schye out of the lineup.

Can't forget about Connor Strahm, he and Schye will be future stars and they will see the field plenty this fall.

I'm guessing Shane Cochran and Alex Thomas will suit up but will probably not play.

Is Richards comin' back to D? That would make sense with the lack of expeirience at LB (0 starts for all returning LB's) and the depth and strength of the youth at the TE position.

I like Kose (if he stays healthy), Lebsock, and Van Ackeren. If Kose can't make it then Lebsock moves to the middle and Owen steps in. The nice thing about this group is they all return for 2015 also.

I agree with kemajic it's gonna be hard to keep Schye off the feild. I think by 2015 he may pass up a Sr for a startin' job.

It's probably just the Helena in me talking, but I'd like to see the 37 go to Caleb Kidder this year.

The Ass Kicking Machine...of course. Tucker Schye. He's the standing rib roast of the backers now. You guys can hash out which 2 burger patties will be next to him on the plate... :egriz:

There ain't no Helena in me but I agree. He's the top choice. Wouldn't b surprised to c Schye get it either. When does Tripp make the call? After the spring scrums?

Don't know if there's an official time it's announced. As I recall Tripp wasn't announced as #37 until a few weeks before the season. I'm betting we would hear before fall camp. Lots of times the players want to get a report on how the guys are doing during summer workouts.

I think the obvious choice is Zach Wagenmann. Going to be a star this year, not that he isn't already. One Missoula boy (Tripp) to another (Wags.)

This is where I'd put my money.

I've seen Kose at a few basketball games and saw him jog up some bleacher steps - a good sign for his return. I assume he'll ease his way back in spring ball and I hope he can be strong and ready for fall camp. Getting Kose back would be huge because that would bring an experienced hitter/enforcer to the corps, even if he has to rotate to keep his knees healthy.

Assuming he can come back strong I'd see Owen/Kose/Van Ackeren starting with Lebsock/Schye/Strahm or Lippert as the backup. Could be like 2005/06 again where we see 5 to 6 guys rotating a ton.

We'll find out in two weeks (or so) but it'll also be interesting to see if one of the Richards boys has moved back to LB and if the prior rumor/suggestion of Gamboa going to LB is true.

I like the potential in this group of young men....if I remember correctly they are all on the light side....maybe the off season will help put on muscle and weight...correct me if I am wrong on this...

I think that for the most part there is some on the light side, but there is a ton of athleticism there. Where we got in trouble with teams last year was when we ended up with a backer on a receiver in man to man. I think that may be less of an issue this year.

Yeah I'd posted that before almost all save Kose and Schye are lighter guys. The interesting thing is that Owen, Van Ack, Lebsock, Strahm (and if true Gamboa) were all safeties in high school and some even in college. So they come in as lighter guys but, in theory, should be more experienced in pass coverage. It could be a big boost to our pass coverage, especially on slot WRs, in the middle of the field, against running backs, and tight ends.

I believe that Gamboa was a linebacker in high school, albeit a fairly light, extremely fast one.

The players are there.....we have a good, very sound group of men to play linebacker. Can Tye provide the instruction to get them to in the right spots and perform at their maximum. Last year I wasn't convinced. But I really like this group :thumb:
