LG with an impressive win over Idaho tonight, 59-56. Cole hit a three with 12 secs left off a drive and dish from Sullivan. LG were up 10 in the 2nd but Idaho went on a late run and even took the lead. I was impressed with the composure of this LG team when Idaho had taken the lead (LG immediately tied it back up).
Idaho is much better than their past teams. They are 5-4 but have lost to #24 Gonzaga by 8, #21 Cal by 4, undefeated San Diego (#10 mid-majors), and now the LG.
Outside of the LMU tourney, LG have been playing great ball so far. They are a very well-rounded team and actually have some offense this year. They (one player especially, but I'm not going to call her out since she does a lot of other good things) just need to work on being under control and not being sloppy with the ball and their passes.
LG will play UC Irvine in the late championship game tomorrow night.
BTW: Sac State continued their great season so far with a win over previously undefeated and #4 mid-major Saint Mary's last night. Looks like the BSC is going to be tough again with Montana (5-1), Sac State (5-1), Southern Utah (5-2), and Montana State (4-2) all near the top.
