Less Cowbell

Please tell me if I am not remembering correctly. At some point during this or last season, I remember the stadium announcer saying that no artificial noise makers were allowed in Washington-Griz. At the Griz-Cat game, we had two obnoxious females with cowbells sitting beside us. I will make no further comment on the two females. Are artificial noise makers allowed on WA-Griz?

If so, the noise makers that were handed out to the Griz fans to take to the 1995 championship game were great. They were 1/2 gallon milk jugs with a small amount of gravel in them. They were very loud when shaken. :D

Now you've made me go all nostalgic. But my wife and I were trying to remember: Were those handed out on the fan charter plane, or on the bus headed for the stadium? (Or maybe both?) Whatever ... they sure made plenty of noise.

Another story: The evening before the game, we had a late-ish dinner in the hotel restaurant. Naturally, Griz fans were everywhere. I wandered into the bar to get a couple drinks (the wait crew was short-staffed, or something). I overheard the bar manager on the phone -- I swear this is a true story -- frantically calling somebody (another bar manager, I suppose) who might send him more booze. He didn't care what it was ... just alcoholic -- because all these crazy people were drinking him dry.

I despise the a-hole that brings a cowbell to a football game. It's annoying as f*ck! Was at a high school game this year and a lady not too far from me rang a cowbell the entire damn time. I finally had to move.

Couldn't agree more. Cowbells should be allowed only around cows' necks.

During regular season contests the rules for artificial noise makers is mandated by the big sky conference. The big sky has no such rule of prohibiting noise makers/cow bells. the NCAA prohibits all noise makers during the playoffs and the hosting university is responsible for enforcement. Meaning if MSU(using them because they use noise makers there) hosts a playoff game the university must enforce that policy or risk possible on field penalty/fines from the NCAA.

Does anyone know what exactly is the BSC limits on human feces and snakes? Are the limits by number or weight?

Serious question.

Feces by weight; snakes by length. It's a classic makes-no-sense-bsc rule. #bsc.

Exact same thing happened at the Griz get together the night before the National Championship game against JMU. Think the party was at the Chatty Convention Center. Lines got so long you had to buy 8 beers at a time for your group because as soon as you drank one someone in the group had to get back in line again. Bartender said they had never seen a group of people drink so much and just have a good time. No one getting overly obnoxious and no fights. I told him that was because there were no MSU fans there. He did not get the joke.

I think cowbells are most commonly used at Winter Olympics and some soccer. But I agree, they are very obnoxious at football games. 84, I have the same memory of the event at the Chatty Conv. Ctr. Great time!! Too bad the field fell apart.
