Lehigh Football Nation article on move-up

Ok lets have Idaho or New Mexico keep their FBS card/ WAC card, get San Jose State, Fresno State, UNLV, Colorado St, Wyoming, New Mexico St, Cal Poly, MSU, Eastern Wash, NDSU, Nevada- Reno and form a league. We could be the little punching bag league/ little brother for Pac-12 and the Mountain West. Now I think this would be a pretty competitive league!
 
That article is pretty old. Regardless, conference goals are based on the things its members agree on. The majority of the Big Sky conference is nothing like the Montana schools. Would you really want to be part of an FBS conference cooked up by Sac, Ewu, PSu, uNC, ISU, NAU and SUU? That would be the absolute worst FBS conference. Worse than the MAC,MWC, and even the Sun Belt.
The other issue is unlike Montana and MSU, several of the other Big Sky schools already participate in other conferences for sports the big Sky doesn't offer. Who's to say the other schools would stick with the Big Sky?
 
LOL.. why in the sam hell would SJSU, Fresno, UNLV, CSU, and Wyoming leave the stable, and pretty damn good Mountain West to form a conference full of scrubs? No way schools with the facilities, budgets and tradition want to be lumped in with Northern Colorado, SUU, Weber, PSU, EWU, etc.
