Lebsock

Watching him on ST and when he gets in at linebacker makes me wish we would have kept the guy at safety. He tackles VERY well and hits HARD! Sure could use him in the secondary. Anybody know why he was converted? Too slow?

Considering 3 or 4 of our higher rated recruits from this last class are dbs and we lose all 3 starting lb's next year, It makes perfect sense. Besides, good tackling and hard hitting are traits you want just as much in a lb as a db...

Isn't he a bit undersized for a lb? He reminds me of Colt Anderson in regard to his size and his physicality. I was just thinking that he would bring a lot to te table in the secondary, especially with his knowledge of the game (e.g. Son of head coach, former QB and safety).

Lebsock is 4 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier than Colt was. I like Lebsock too. Some weak side backers are smaller.

I think he's a bit undersized also. He is listed at 205 which means he is probably under 200. I understand the future needs at LB but think his true position is SS. But the coaches know more about that than I do. He has a long ways to go to merit comparisons to Colt tho!

He is a very sound tackler. Going to be a good one no matter where he plays.

This! You come from a family with a football background like his - you learn to hit hard and have good technique. I have been impressed with his abilities and heart thus far. I am worried about the depth at linebacker for next year and he will be one kid that likely steps up and eases my fears.

We need him at OLB next year. He is a bit of a "tweener" but graduation in the LB corps is going to be tough next year and Lebsock is able to play that position at a relatively high level despite being slightly undersized at that position.

Coach Ty has been talking about moving Lebsock to OLB for two years.

Lebsock will remain a LB for the rest of his career at UM, and if he can stay healthy, put on 10 more pounds, he'll be a solid one. He's not going back to safety. The Griz are going to be small at LB next year with Lebsock, Owen and Van Ackeren, unless they bring in a dropdown. I just don't see Kose making it back from another knee, and Shye won't be ready just yet to start and play 40-50 snaps a game. He will have to play a backup role though for sure.

Lebsock is/was 205 or a bit more (at least as of the start of the season).

I agree about Schye. He needs to hit the weights hard this year and during the off season. The BSC better look out when he is a junior. Kid will be a beast.

nothing says he will not play l/b at 220-230 like his older brother now that they have decided to keep him at linebacker for the duration of his career....he is a hitter for sure..
