Lafayette ??

5-6 and they get an "at large"? As opposed to The Griz last year? Granted Lafayette is a storied program with record setting trips to the playoffs, National Titles, and record setting conference titles. Not to mention having the best fan base in the league..(oh..I guess that us)

I'm sure someone will come up with some power wacha-macallit ranking that puts this team in. But I gotta tell ya, I'm not a Cat fan, but even they beat Lafayette by 30 all day, everyday.

Oh…I just assumed that at 5-6 they didn't win their conference. Wow, what a stretch for me…I'll try and be as "sharp" as you in the future.

Has nothing to do with being "sharp" and all about taking a few minutes to research before you assume a 5-6 team would be an at-large selection.

No. Lafayette got the automatic bid out of the Patriot League. And they did it by (1) beating Fordham 27-14 when Fordham was ranked #5, and (2) going on the road and drubbing Lehigh, 50-28 -- Lehigh was then ranked #17.

Now, you can question whether or not the Patriot deserves an automatic bid, but it does have one ... and Lafayette earned that slot with their performances on the field.
