Congrats to the Lady Griz on a perfect Big Sky record. Next step the conference championship! All Griz fans need to get out to the games and get loud next week.

I've been hearing that if the ladies win the BSC that they'll be back here in town for the regionals, go Lady Griz!

Not exactly the regionals, but the sub-regionals. But there isn't any guarantees. It does look good for them to come here. NCAA women's basketball doesn't get the large draw in many places to be able to make all sites neutral like the men's side. But that is getting closer. It wasn't that long ago when sub-regionals weren't predetermined. That is now history. So, women's basketball is growing.

The rest of the women's Big Sky went this way:

WSU 74
ISU 54

MSU 67
EWU 58

NAU 78
SAC 61

That leaves the standings like this:

UM 14 - 0
ISU 11 - 3
WSU 11 - 3
MSU 6 - 8
NAU 5 - 9
EWU 5 - 9
PSU 3 - 11
SAC 1 - 13

PSU and SAC are out.

NAU and EWU are tied with no tie breakers except RPI. NAU has a higher RPI rating before today's games. I suspect it will be the same after.

So, the matchups next week are (assuming NAU does finish above EWU):

WSU vs EWU
MSU vs NAU

I predict Lady Griz to play MSU Bobcats and WSU playing ISU in the semi-finals.

I then predict WSU and Lady Griz to play for the championship with Lady Griz prevailing. Be tough for WSU to win playing three days in a row. Don't think they have the depth to do it.

My understanding of the first and second round is that the ladies will be at home no mater what as long as they make the tournament. It has to do with the way the NCAA drew up the bracket and regional seeding. It is entirely possible that you will see Montana thrown into the south or mideast region, yet will host games at the fieldhouse regardless of region. If they are in the tourney (even if it is as an at large birth, they will play at home.

But, the ncaa hasn't drew up the brackets and seedings yet. That doesn't happen until after all the regular season and tournaments are over. All they have set so far are the locations of the sub-regionals, regionals, and final four. I am sure the Lady Griz will be at home because of money, etc.
But, some year when women's bb warrants it, every site will be neutral just like the men's. It is getting closer. Just not this year though.

I guess I misstated that. I am aware that the NCAA has only chosen the locations. However with those locations come host institutions. Those institutions, provided they make the field of 64, will play at home for the first and second round.
