Lady Griz vs Wildcats

No doubt about it, this game will be a good one. Both teams possess a Conference MVP. Both teams possess good post players. Both have good outside shooting. Both teams have good defenses.

The one advantage Weber State has had would be offense. But, lately, Lady Griz have been scoring the ball very well.

What it will come down to is defense and rebounding. This is where the Lady Griz is best at, and the reason Lady Griz beat ISU.

Lady Griz need to contain Gjertsen while not letting any other player like O'Neil, or Tuomi have big games, like yesterday against NAU.
Sure wouldn't hurt to have Weber State shoot poorly from the freethrow line, and Gjertsen turn the ball over 5 times while only scoring 8 points.

Wildcats need to contain Mcleod, Edwards, and Tyler. But, will they apply the same tactic that they have done in the past with Brooklyn Lorenzen and Lynsey Monaco by sagging the guard back to cover Tyler and Baird? It has cost them many times as Lorenzen had her biggest games against Weber State and Monaco had her best game last saturday and seems to have gained a lot of confidence in her offense because of it. But this tactic has Weber State in the game with a chance to win all of them everytime.

Lynsey Monaco could be again the key for a Lady Griz victory. But she will be expected to play another 40 minutes after a 40 minute performance on friday while playing with a very bad cold. I walked past Monaco, and she was coughing and hacking away, looked pretty bad. Hopefully, I didn't catch her cold.

Another factor will be the crowd. Just may be the difference, I hope.

And why did the Big Sky Conference go with Altitude Sports to cover the Big Sky Conference Championship game? Very few people outside the Missoula area that can't make it to the game will be able to watch it. Plus, I do not get it so cannot record it.

Last time out I've never seen so many made 3 point shots. Hope they're off today.
Crummy day hopefully will bring out a few hundred more fans.
