Lady Griz Vs. Idaho

Gfeller steals the ball with 7 seconds remaining and then makes 2 free throws to give the Lady Griz a 3 point lead.

Comparing the lady’s thread with the men’s thread, I think it’s time the fan base shifted their focus to the women. More positive things to talk about.

I gotta say that UI's #10, Forsyth, was amazing.
Louise Forsyth was a former five-star recruit in the class of 2017 (#49 overall) from Canada. She never made much of an impact at Gonzaga, but has been a solid contributor for Idaho in her fifth season and has been playing especially well as of late.

Turnovers gave Idaho 13 more FGA, but the Lady Griz shot well enough to overcome that (that’s a typical Oregon State WBB stat line).

Hopeful Fatkin returns soon. She could have been the difference maker against EWU and NAU.

What a crazy conference this season! Northern Colorado beats ISU. Eastern Washington beats the Cats in Bozeman. And Weber State beats Sac State in Sacramento (after Sac had run off several solid wins).

Agree on Forsyth. A very polished post player, but hard to defend because she's dangerous at any place on the floor.

And briefly. The BEST game I've ever seen Sophia Stiles play. So cool
and a HUGE break-out game from Kyndall Keller. No stopping her now.

Good win last night for the ladies. And the lights out shooting by Sophia. Amazing! I have to say it would have been a blowout win if we could control our turnovers. 15 turnovers is not a great stat. Just like our loss at eastern Washington game when we had 17 turnovers. Just like our loss at NAU with 17 turnovers. When we take care of things like the Southern Utah game at 9 turnovers we have better results. We beat Southern Utah on the boards with our girls ripping down O boards to give us extra opportunities and the bench played great. Turnovers looks to be the stat that needs a lot of work in the next few games.

Turnovers are a killer for sure. What gets me is the careless passes, missing layups or uncontested shots in the low paint and not getting back on defense. These seem to be correctable mistakes. I know we are going to have some but if we could reduce each of them by 50% we will be a tough out.

A major part of the problem is missing Fatktin of course. I really like this team and I think missing Fatkin has given some other players such as Morris-Nelson, Keller, Frohlich and Bartsch to develop more confidence with increased playing time. We will need them all in the tournament and when Sammy returns we should be a lot better overall and I think we could be a real force in the tournament. especially with people not having to play 40 minutes.

Great points. With the rough schedule coming up we don't want our girls wiped out going into tournament. Riding the 5th 6th place bubble we need these addressed quickly. Don't need another year of one and done in Boise. On the positive note the girls seem to be loving the game and teammates again. Lacking in the past 4 years. To be fair Mike Patrino had things rough but pointed in the right direction.

Important win by LG. They didn't need to lose to a weaker team at home. We'll see how they finish. 6 games, with 4 on road. SU and MSU at home.

Tough finish. Could go either way. Need Fatkin back. Several of the bench are starting to step up big. Great for more depth.
