Eastern Washington with Bella Hays, a 6'4" Redshirt Freshman, the older sister of Layla Hays, getting the nod for one of the teams to beat, along with NAU. UofM following and MSU fourth. Ought to be interesting why teams with the infamous 'bigs' are ruled the team/s to beat. It can be a tussle, to say the least, granted. When Xavier beat Tennessee a while back, Xavier led the nation in the trey (3-point shooting) department. Those 5'6" & 5'8" players for Xavier just shot over those 6'3' and 6'5" players for Tennessee and won the game. Of course, you live by the trey, you die by the trey; but it can be done with team discipline and cohesion, evidently; with a lot of sharp shooting along the way.
In other words, nice to have a 'big,' like this is in the days of George Mikan and Wilt Chamberlain and all that, somewhere?; but if you have a 'team' effort with a bunch of four-star recruits that can play both offense and defense, that have 'their' shot, and players that play on the same team 'knowing' what your shot is and set you up for it time after time, the chances are, well, I would assume lending itself to a game wherein there is a chance of success by ' playing 'our' game and not someone else's. Hence, a lot of room for upsets.
