Lady Griz Erase 16 point deficit

Lady Griz shot about 11% in the first half, down by 16 at halftime to Portland, come back to win in OT. True freshman Sonya Rogers buries 4 treys in second half. Morales goes 1-11 from the field but pulls down 10 boards. 4 LG in double figures. Good tuneup for BSC Play.

Nice victory for the Griz. I've noticed that shooting percentage has been low for the Lady Griz, but they still pull out wins. I don't think Portland isn't that great, but who knows? It's tough to win anywhere away from home. Anyway, the Lady Cats won't be winless heading into the Cat-Griz game next Friday night as they won today by the score of 92-84 over Utah Valley State. They've been getting better each game. The Griz might be in for a tougher match than previously thought.

I wouldn't go that far. The LG are averaging 68ppg and outscoring opponents by nearly 10 ppg. They are also holding opponents to .345 fgp which is a hallmark of a Selvig Team. With all the freshmen Selvig is playing I would expect they will shoot even better as season prgesses.

Nice to see cats women finally get a win. That is a tough deal when you work hard and don't get any resluts. I fully expect a tough game from them in Bozeman, it usually is.

OK, thanks for the info Grizbacker. I don't want to sound like an idiot over here, so thanks for the help. I didn't intend my first post to be smack, just curious about the team. The Lady Griz are good, and it will be fun to see them play, especially for me as I get to see one of my good friends who plays for the Lady Griz. And Selvig is a hoot to watch on the sideline, certainly very colorful. :afro:

I appreciate your optimism but the Lady Bobcats are gonna get beat like a rented mule.

Hey Boz,

Just so you know I wasn't taking your post as smack at all. I think ti would be asy to see it like you were the way the ladies shot the last couple of games. Katie did the same thing in pre season last year then lit up the BSC so I hope she does the same again. The girl from Bozeman does a nice job, Selvig has got a sensational freshman/soph class.

I was at the game. I have listened to several games but this was the first I have seen this year. The first half was possibly the ugliest Lady Griz basketball I have ever seen, out-scored nearly 2 to 1 by an inferior team. Selvig very uncharacteristically sat calmly for much of it and his team seemed asleep too. Maybe they were looking past the 3-9 Pilots?

UP put on terrific zone pressure and had the LG stymied for most of the game. Whenever the ladies took the ball inside they either scored or were fouled (unfortunately they missed way too many freethrows). The refs were pretty bad. They let the UP center camp in the paint. It wasn't until I yelled 3 seconds about 10 times that they finally called it.

Sara Gale's grandparents were right in front of me and I didn't have the heart to say that she looks completely lost out there. Her grand-dad did say that he thinks she thinks too much and doesn't react enough (of course he said it in the most kind and loving way).

I believe if the ladies play with this lack of intensity again, they will lose. UP is better than their record but not THAT good.

Would that be Britney Lohman?

You got it. She's a great player and will do a wonderful job for the Griz. She's also a really nice person and very sweet. So that's also a nice character person for the Griz too.
