82-77 win. I listened to the game on the Internet. What are the thoughts from those of you who were there? On the radio, it sounded like Mandy Morales had a lot of nice inside plays.

It was Santa Clara.

Mandy played great, scored 18 points in 29 minutes of play. She is a playmaker.

Katie Edwards also scored 18 points in 38 minutes of play time.

Jody Mcleod had a huge game today, was named the player of the game. Scored 16 points, 9 rebounds - 6 of them on offense, and I believe she scored a basket or made freethrows because of them.

Johanna Clossen scored 10 points, and an offensive rebound off of a missed freethrow at the end basically put the game out of reach for Santa Clara.

Santa Clara has one heck of a team on offense. But defense is definitely a weak point. They played tough and physical. The physical part caused 27 fouls, and put the Lady Griz at the line 40 times. Lady Griz only made 28.

Mandy had one heck of a time at the Free throw line. Made only 3 of 8 in first half. Better in the second half, making 8 of 13 overall. She has to shoot well from the line as she is going to be fouled a lot this year.

Overall, even though Lady Griz scored 82 points, this I do not call the best game they played, at least not on defense. They seemed a bit slow, but then that is likely because Santa Clara was a pretty darn quick team. If they had another big player like Gonnerman, this team would be much better defensively.

If you think this game was tough, wait till this friday when Lady Griz play Miami, top 50 in RPI and in the toughest conference in women's college basketball. This may be the best team coming into the fieldhouse this season.
