Lady Griz 75, Bengals 69

Lady Griz swept the toughest road trip of the year beating Bengals 75 - 69, after beating Weber State on thursday.

Lady Griz were down by 5 at the half. Around the 11 minute mark the score was tied at 49. With around 3 minutes left Lady Griz gained a 67 - 54 lead after having a huge run. But Bengals fought back and got it within 4 points with around a 1 minute left. But, Lady Griz held on and won.

Jody Mcleod had another big game for the Lady Griz. She got 16 points, 8 rebounds. Hit 8 - 8 from the freethrow line. She did sprain her ankle early in the second half which would have been quite a problem for the Lady Griz if it were serious. Luckily it wasn't.

So did Lynsey Monaco. Scored in double figures for the first time this year with 13 points. She has not been a good freethrow shooter, but today, she hit 6 - 7. Lynsey couldn't eat last night, was pretty sick. So, maybe she should get real sick before each game more often.

Holly Tyler was also sick. Didn't shoot very well in first half, but had a very good second half. She scored 15 points on 6 - 13 from the field.

Katie Edwards and Johanna Clossen both had 10 points, and Crystal Baird 6 points (all in second half).

Molly Hays scored 20 points for ISU. Michaelson had 14, and Doma had 16 points. ISU played a tough schedule, but never beat teams they should have won either. That Annie Anderson they had last year is a big loss for them, plus they lost a good shooting guard. If ISU had either of those players back, I think ISU would have won today. But, as it is, ISU just didn't have the balance that the Lady Griz have.
