Lady Griz won a close game. This was the worst game Lady Griz played all year at home, but that would have to be due to the best defensive game plan I have seen by another opponent. So kudos to Wendy Schuler (Eastern's coach) for a job well done. Also, Eagles really cleaned up on the boards by beating the Lady Griz 46 to 28. Something the Lady Griz have to do better if they want to win the Tournament and get to the NCAA tournament.
And the Lady Griz didn't really play all that bad either. Only 11 turnovers in the game. Shot poorly (37%), but most of the misses were due to Eagles defense. In addition, Lady Griz played their normal solid defense, caused 24 turnovers by the Eagles.
Anyway, Lady Griz did clinch sole possession of first place in Big Sky, so there will not be any co-champions like there were the last two seasons.
