Lack of smoke in Fargo?

The grizzlies have been forced to practice all fall camp in terrible conditions with all the smoke, and I’ve heard the smoke particles in the lungs have led to many players getting winded very quickly. The Bison have had perfect conditions all fall and it sounds like they are in excellent condition. Do you guys think this is going to have an impact on the game? (Hint….. the answer is NO, but it’s a hell of a lot more likely to have an impact the game than altitude or Monte or refs or any of your other stupid ideas.).

Yahoo Sports: Montana State Bobcats I yahoo' Montana state football and this is the info it provided. That and the fact that you open the season with Fort Lewis for a night game. I would imagine bobcat nation would be taking more of your attention than spending all your time on egriz.

The O line would be gassed even with perfect air quality, so we'll just scratch that concern off the list.

I was thinking about this the other week. I think it depends if it clears up for gameday or not. If it clears up, it favors NDSU (closer to conditions they have been practicing in and they won't have the "smoker lungs" the Griz will have). If it stays closer to what it is now, it favors UM (both have to play in the same conditions but the slight hit to conditioning and health for the Griz being in it longer won't be as big of a factor as the question of if NDSU is able to overcome the mental aspect of taking on a new and foreign environment).

Your first sentence is not correct. Smoke wasn't too bad in Missoula until the last week or so. There didn't seem to be any smoke at any practice or scrimmage I attended--maybe 8 or so days. More recently, yup, mostly bad smoke. But not nearly as bad as some prior years.

I wish Obama had included forest fire smoke in his new carbon reduction legislation. Can't believe he didn't....we'd have nothing to worry about this weekend.

Coach Kleinman, in addition to pumping in sound to his practices, has urged bison players to begin smoking two packs of cigarettes daily as they acclimate to the smokey atmosphere in Missoula. See story below . . .

Well they'd have to smoke Larch's or White Pine's or Douglas Firs (or any brand containing any of the several other soft woods native to the area) to get the optimal acclimation effect. Puffing tobacco or ganj won't help significantly.
