LOS ANGELES — When it comes to describing his first season at the University of Utah, Larry Krystkowiak uses an analogy about getting something painted.

While continually thinking about what you're doing and the final result, he explained, there are things to do that aren't a whole lot of fun, like sanding and taping.

The preparation, though, eventually pays off.

It's a blueprint, of sorts, that Krystkowiak has in place for the Runnin' Utes.

"I feel like we're just kind of popping the lid off the can now," he said. "And we're going to be able to start reaping some of the benefits or some of the rewards and really get moving forward."

He got the number 1 player in Utah this year in Loveridge, plus he has Dean who will be eligible next year. And Justin Seymour is not going to be no slouch either. Those are 3 very good young players to start his base from plus Washburn, who showed great improvement as the season wore on will be around for his Senior season.

They will be fine, and beating Weber in less than 3 years.

Loveridge is a tweener, & will really struggle in the Pac. I've seen him play, & Utah was his "highest" conference offer for a good reason. They got bounced early in the state tourney, & he played lousy.
Loveridge is not there answer, he plays the 4, but in a 3 body. He's been able to pull it off in high school, but won't in DI, let alone Pac12. Weber's 2 young Centers made Washburn look like a high school player. Larry will get canned well before he can right the laughing stalk which is Utah basketball.

I'll give you Glen Dean, but he's no Cherry, or Lillard. Dean is also 5" shorter than Lillard, & going into a league with bigger bigs, & defenders, who even knows how that will translate.

Hard to say that Krystkowiak is running that program into the ground because it was in the ground when he arrived. But he isn't doing much to turn it around. I attended all of Weber's home games this season and Utah was the worst D1 team I saw them play. And that's saying something since Weber plays in the Big Sky. And it wasn't just a lack of talent. They were poorly coached. Now players are leaving and recruits are being told to hit the road before they even arrive. I'll give him two more years before he's sent packing.

OK, so if Tinkle leaves within a few years (seems like the consensus here) and Krysko gets booted within a few years (also seems like a popular opinion), is there any crazy chance that Kyrsko ends up back at Missoula in a few years? What a ride that would be (for Krysko)!
