I read in the Sunday paper that Kramer said he wasn't talking and didn't know when he would. It is hard to imagine Kramer being speechless. But wouldn't it be better for himself and for Bobcat athletics for Kramer to issue a statement saying that the decision is made and though he isn't happy with it he understands why it is made and it is final and everybody needs to move on.
A statement like that from Kramer would help Kramer by showing any other future AD that he can deal with adversity with class. (Bobcats: I am not saying Kramer does not have class....I have always respected his sportsmanship.)
That statement might help Bobcat athletics by cooling the heads of the lynchmob that is on the verge of forming outside of Peter Fields' office. I am not saying that Bobcat boosters don't have a right to be upset at Fields if they feel the firing was wrong. But at the moment Fields needs to concentrate on finding a good replacement for Kramer. I doubt if Gamble (considering his recent remarks) will throw Fields under the bus. So right now assuaging the ire of the fanbase would help Fields make a decision.
And there might be a lot of coaches that would be loath to go to a program that just fired their coach and already has an angry fanbase, along with possible off the field problems that need to be corrected.
