Kitty Cat's Nevada Recruit

I seem to remember Bobcat Nation (especially Bozely) being excited about the FBS drop down running back from Nevada coming to the Cats, even though this player was booted off Nevada's team. Bozely felt it was important to post on Griz Nation about their new big recruit and I challenged him on being excited about taking in a player who was kicked off the Nevada program. He and others defended the decision.....well here is what came from it.

Hate to say I told ya so.....who am I kidding, not really!!!!!!!!

YEAH! ARREST SMACK!! SUCK IT CATS!!

Like Griz fans have any room to talk trash about this...

Seriously though... yeah... prob good it happened before he got to the team - doesn't really tarnish MSU at all since he's not here and/or enrolled yet (I'd guess).

Pretty sure he had posted that he was coming on twitter, no factual info that he recieved an offer and was not a part of the team.

BW, I agree 100% that we have no room to talk smack about this. Griz Nation has definitely had its fair share of issues as of late. However, please keep in mind that I was not the one posting threads on a rivalry's chat board about our big new star recruit whi was kicked off another program and acted proud of it. That in and of itself was not smart. I hope he realizes now that karma always comes around.

This is being discussed on the orginal thread regarding this moron, but this seems rather unlikely to me. The coaching staff was prohibited from discussing the player at all, but it seems rather unlikely to me that an agreement hadn't been reached. Odder things have happened though, I guess.

In a statement released Monday, Montana State said Knight contacted the school about potentially transferring, but never became part of the program.

Well of course he didn't. They needed to put out a statement saying that?

But that doesn't mean he wasn't going to join the program.

Criminey, some of you are beginning to sound a lot like PR.

I think think its funny BW for some reason didn't think this would be "discussed." God forbid a halo tighten
msu bobcat be scrutinized and St Ash not vetting his potential players. If anything happens to a 12 year old wearing a Montana Jersey or an EX Griz makes the paper watch out for the msu shit storm. Sorry BW if some fans find a back at ya during the sumer months just to vent some frustration. I believe the comments from cat land was if maybe Rodderick had any other "friends" who want to join the all mighty cats :thumb: Anyway to bad for this kid.........had a chance and blew it.

Sure, if he had stayed out of trouble, he just might have joined the program. Was he a part of the program in any sense, no.

A potential Griz, who has shown some interest in the program, contacted the coaches but has not signed any paperwork and has only scheduled a visit, gets into serious legal problems. Would you consider him " a part of the team?"

If you'd read my comments on the other thread, you'd see that I fully agree with you and am happy he got into trouble before he landed in bozo. But to suggest that he wasn't accepted into the program, or that Ash tuned him away seems naïve, and perhaps even a little PR silly.

Well considering the past of the kid, there could be a chance Ash told him "enroll in school, show up and I'll give you a chance." Or maybe Ash did have a verbal agreement. All I know is that there was no official paperwork.

This won't hurt the APR, so from any official standpoint, this doesn't affect the program whatsoever. The only people who will even know he was possibly going to MSU are Cat and Griz fans.

I was all for giving him a chance, honestly. That is the benefit of having a "clean" (I quote this because no program is clean these days) program, in terms of APR and standing, because it affords you the risk to take a chance on guys like this, talented guys, who might not pan out for whatever reason.

Unfortunately we seem to get burned on them - the Thomas brothers come to mind...

Bizzare. This kid must have spoken with detectives at some point. Couldn't have been too surprised charges were coming.
So how did he cozy up to MSU? Were Knight and Roderick buddies? No loss for MSU. Kid's 40 time couldn't have been too good.

Dear Griz Fans,

He was arrested, not convicted. You are trying to deny him his constitutional rights to due process. When the facts come out, and they will, you will all see that he was just misunderstood.

Sincerely,

Cat Players' Rep
