Keys to the game?

Tackling is going to be the key, no wiffed tackles at the legs, make contact and hang on until help gets there, and we must have no fumbles! I expect that CC will put it on the ground a couple of times. Special teams will be big too, we cant allow blocked punts or field goals, and I do expect a big return or 2 out of Ellis Henderson, hopefully he is the returner on all kickoffs tomorrow!

All of the above but I also can't help but thinking the last minute scramble The Chants had to do to outfit themselves for this weather left them with less than appropriate gear and things they just aren't used to playing in. I'm not a "gear" guy so it may be possible this stuff is pretty standard and they now have the same stuff cold weather teams are wearing. Guessing they just haven't played in sleeves of any kind. I'm hoping they ended up with something very very slick making it hard to tackle and harder yet to hold on to a frozen ball.

Sorry, got off subject on "keys" to the game. Surely not a "key" but watching some workers today that didn't have the right cold weather wear or had newly purchased stuff they didn't like or wasn't doing what they thought it would made me go hrrrrrmmmmmmm?????

Besides not freezing to death just before crossing goal line (seriously, Mr Ross, this could happen) what are some aspects of the game that will be important to a Griz win?

I see three things.

1) Defense: Stop their big running back. No one, and I mean no one, comes into our house and runs it on us like Zack Bauman.

2) Offense: Protect JJ and let him run once in a while.

3) Special Teams: I see our punting game as critical. If Shaw can give them long fields, I think the defense can handle them and stall out drives or force turnovers. We must win the field position battle with good punts. Now, how far can Shaw kick a cinderblock anyway?

Except for maybe Taiwan Jones.

It looked like they were bundled up pretty good during their practice last night. I hope the Griz lineman and others dress appropriate for this game and throw out the whole macho thing by just wearing t-shirts so they don't get frost bite or anything. Being tough is one thing but not dressing appropriate in zero below is not wise and we don't need them missing any of this game or next should they win.

I visited with coach Delaney yesterday and as usual he wants to lb. the ball. Like in "pound" for the 100th time. Yet I.... as a much improved "arm chair" coach told him to have three JJ passes in a sequence and it will fool the entire world.

Many have not been in any cold weather from the CC team. I mean cold. We will see some strange balls landing on the turf from both sides. More problems and fumbles for the CC unit however! I see us doing OK on special teams ...... we should cancel the field goal attempts and simply go for it on fourth down. They (CC) have good speed but......
In the end we heap about 40 points on the board and CC tallies about 11!

I will see all you good tough fans at the game. The rest of you weenies can hide behind your wife or kids and not make the game. This game will be talked about for quite awhile so for hells sake attend!

Has anyone mentioned the cold yet?
