Derrick Selvig is currently playing Q.B. for Dawson County High School. The team is 1-2 and coming off of a 31-0 pasting by Havre. Not a lot of blocking going on as evidenced by five blocked punts. The one win was against Class B Glasgow. Let's hope that nothing serious happens and pray that the offensive line improves.

It will toughen him up. Basketball is a contact sport regardless of what some might think. If you don't believe it, go sit close to the paint and watch those guys go at it.

Selvig is playing QB, and Bobby Howard is playing WR for Great Falls. Someone needs to go and get both these kids off the stupid gridiron, and back on to the playing surface of a real sport a -basketball court. Say what you want about "toughing up" all you want, but I have never ever seen the game of foot ball toughen up anyones ACL!! Given the fact these kids are 6-9 and 6-7 the knees are the first to get tackled. Not to mention both of these kids can not be descibed as "stocky" by any stretch of the imagination.

Fingers are crossed!!!

since they are committed I might tend to agree, but I think there are as many acl's in basketball as fb

Kazmierczak injured his knee last year on the basketball court. Thanfully it did not turn out as bad as originally thought. I just hope he recovers fully and contributes to the griz beginning in 07. Also Osweiller is playing football. I know he has considered giving up football because of his scholarship to Gonzaga. I am not sure what Few's standing is, but heared he is encouraging him to play football too to make him tougher and to let him be a kid while he can be.

These two are competitive athletes and the fact that they have continued to play football and track as well makes them that much better Basketball players.

I'm not sure about Selvig but I have heard from Great Falls people that Bobby has been recruited by both Hauck and Kramer for football as well so who knows.

Also according to some MSU fans Huse is supportive of Howard playing football.

Great athletes like these two want to compete in as many high school sports as they can. I am sure they just love competing, which is one of the qualities which makes them so good.

But, in the sports environment of today, when the value of a four-year college scholarship is so high, I think that they should stay off the football field if they have determined that BB is their future in college. My opinion only.

Just an update. DCHS was blasted by Billings Central 48-0. DCHS was held to one (1) (yes you read that right) yard of total offense. Selvig was picked twice and was a minus 14 yards in rushing.
