Keep Your Heads Up Griz

Most posters on here (including me) don't have a clue how to coach or play football at a sophisticated level. With all the distractions we have had why would we expect more? Not many people can take over a key position in a new company and have the change be made with no problems or controversy.

The critics abound but there are way more fans than critics and we are going to be supporting you regardless of where we are at or end up. We are building for next year and will be looking forward to a strong finish this year topped off by a victory over the Cats.

I noticed this weekend that their were interceptions, fumbles, missed tackles, blocked field goal attempts and even missed field goals in the NFL and these guys are paid to play. There is only one unbeaten team in the NFL. How is that possible with highly paid coaches and players?

As the coach of the Green Bay Packers says -

''There's such a fine line between winning and not winning. I think that sometimes gets lost in the conversation that the players and the coaches go through and when it doesn't go your way,'' McCarthy said. ''I think sometimes when you give honest answers to questions. Things get skewed and strong opinions are made about individuals or how we're playing.

''We're 3-3, and I know exactly why we're 3-3. But I (also) know how to continue to improve. Maybe that gets old, but that's the way we operate. It's about fundamentals, it's about having the proper mindset and energy. Teams have to work and improve throughout the year at practice, we're doing that. Those are things we're focused on...''

I think the same is true for the Griz. While I am disappointed I am not giving up on this team, these young men and these coaches. I am a Griz and will always be one. Eastern Washington is now ranked number one and we had them on the ropes. The difference between a good record and the record we have is very close. The cupboard is not empty. We are still a good team, we have good talent, that talent will continue to improve, some breaks will go our way and we will get better. Adversity makes us all better.

Griz nation (sans a few individuals) is strongly behind you. Make Montana proud and Go Griz!!!

I thought we were 3-4?

You didn't read the posting correctly if you read the article it was a quote about the Packers from Coach McCarthy and not my quote about the Griz.

Not many people are giving up on the Griz! I have been through much tougher times with the Griz in the distant past. The bitching and complaining is simple to understand at this point. We have been delt a crappy hand and we need to wait it out until we get a better hand to play. My guess is our time is coming.

Never give up on the Griz, the young men playing, the tradition etc. We needed to expect some tough times and we are right in the middle of the toughest period. It will soon be fixed and we will be back to normal. Sure it's tough to watch but that is part of the entire picture.

I am one that complains during these times and I pick fault with the coach etc but I will die before I give up on this program. Bitch and moan but we are due and we will be back. In a sick kind of way this has been "good" for us as we will see down the road.

Go Griz!
