Kayleigh Valley Player of the Week

i do love the griz

Kayleigh Valley earned Player of the Week honors after scoring 29 points in a 81-58 win over NAU followed by 27 points and 13 rebounds in a 66-60 win over SUU. Congrats Kayleigh, keep it up!

On a side note she and McCalle Feller absolutely tore it up against NAU. McCalle had 26 points and both of them subbed out with several minutes left in the game. For quite a while in the second half those two combined to outscore NAU entirely. We've got a couple of special players playing very well right now in those girls.

Does anyone know how Alycia Sims is doing this week. I thought I saw her in the background practicing when the news station was interviewing Kayleigh Valley. She looked to be in rough shape in the SUU game didn't play the second half. We'll need her on our road to Sacramento and PSU this weekend.

According to GoGriz, she will be ready to play Thursday (although, this might be a good week to rest her/play her sparingly since PSU is pretty bad and Sac State is really small and will play at an uptempo. But then again, you can never have enough fresh legs against Sac State).

Sims, Doran reporting for duty: Alycia Sims went down with a sprained ankle late in first half in Saturday's game, and Doran went to the bench with a bloody nose in the second half against the Thunderbirds, not to return.

Doran is fine. Sims was in practice gear Tuesday and is expected to be ready to go on Thursday.

Does anyone know whether the LG are recruiting Tiana Johnson out of Flathead Kalispell (a 6'1" junior forward) - http://www.dailyinterlake.com/members/basketball-bravettes-stumble-in-opener-against-bozeman/article_0b61c6a6-9bdf-11e5-b925-0ba7f09f8080.html
