Katz strikes again

I'm sorry, OK? And I AM grateful we have a news station that carries the football games and at least some of the basketball games. But Tom Katz just makes me shake my head. I thought he just had something against our football team, but after watching the Lady Griz tonight, no--it's NOT just football. Every time the Cats did something right, he would just go through the roof and absolutely cheerlead for them. When the Lady Griz did something good, he'd either ignore it or just kind of tlak about it in a flat tone of voice. What IS it with him??? By the way NICE GAME LADIES!!!

The problem really isn't Katz IMO - he gets excited when someone makes someone makes a good play, regardless of which team. the Bozeman guy is a total homer.

The thing is they have a guy from Missoula and a guy from Bozeman so they can have 2 homers, and Kats won't play along. He doesn't have anything against the Griz, he just doesn't want to show anything for them either. If the other guy would play it the same way I think it would be a nice broadcast.

I think I got in this debate last year when I watched the Griz/Cat Men's basketball game on TV. At that point I started calling him Tom "Bob" Katz.

I've overheard him talking about the Griz and Griz fans after two football losses, at different times. (Off air, once against ISU and against EWU). In general he doesn't really care. That's basically it. Missoula is a stepping stone, and he thinks Griz fans need to "get over it" when we lose a game. No big deal, etc etc etc. Thats what he was saying.

I really don't like listening to him, he tries to be fair and impartial but on screen it seems he does that by ripping on the Griz more. I guess its an attempt to show he's not a "fan" but a "broadcaster." Doesn't really make me to jazzed to want listen to the guy while either watching a game, or the sports section on the news each night.
