When the Griz played Sac St. the SS receiver was clearly out bounds but was called in and Sac went on to win. In tonight’s game against UIW the IW receiver did not have clean possession (questionable) but was called a touchdown and ended up winning 66 to 63.

Unlike in our game, I think replay for both calls in last night’s game correct. But there is sweet justice in seeing replay calls go against sac.

I thought the IW receiver had the catch. Tucked in his stomach and-or between legs.

Both calls were correct. Apparently ESPN+ has all those camera angles, not ESPN2.

Oh, espn2 had them. The bsc simply refused to use them. #bsc. #thankscommish

My only question for the UIW receiver is did he have control of the ball as he was going out of bounds? It’s true he did secure the catch but was the ball secure as he went out of bounds? I may not have the correct interpretation of what constitutes a secure catch. Feel free to enlighten me anyone.

In my view, it was secure in his stomach/between his legs with his hand or hands. The defender helped him secure it. It bounced around or get loose as he went out of bounds or after. In any event, not conclusive evidence to overturn. Note the NFL catch a few years ago, where the receiver caught a long tough pass, by pinning it with one hand to his helmet.

In retrospect just as in our game against Sac St. once a call is made by the official, right or wrong, it’s difficult to overturn a call. Somewhere out there in that great world of statistics someone has computed the number of calls that were overturned. My guess it’s 80%+ in calls not being overturned ?

He had possession of it on his stomach and maintained that possession through the catch.

The call on the field was confirmed, meaning they confirmed he had possession the whole time.
